Fiat can look back on 2022 in Germany as a good year. The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) says that 77,771 cars made in Italy were registered for the first time in the last 12 months. In Germany, Fiat sold 10,334 cars in December.
"All Fiat models are also available with an electric drive. The success on the German market last year is a nice confirmation of our strategy to make zero-emissions mobility possible for a large number of customers, said Roberto Debortoli, who was previously Brand Country Director for Fiat and Abarth and is now Director Sales Mainstream and Car for Flow by Stellantis in Germany.
The best-selling Fiat model is the Fiat 500, which can be driven in two ways: fully electric or with a combination of electric and gasoline power. Last year, the Fiat 500 electric car was the best-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV) on the German market for several months. According to the KBA, the model came in third place for 2022 in the segment of passenger cars with electric drive. Along with a range of up to 320 kilometers, the fact that it came with three different body styles was a big part of its success. The Fiat 500 electric car comes as a sedan with three doors, a cabriolet with an electrically operated soft top, and a 3+1 with a second door on the passenger side.
Together, the Fiat 500 electric car and the Fiat 500 Hybrid were Germany's fourth best-selling passenger cars. The share of the market was 2%. In 2022, this made the Fiat 500 the most-bought imported car in Germany.
Fiat's top models right now are the Fiat 500e and the Fiat 500 Hybrid. The Italian brand's other models can also be bought with an electric drive. Customers also like the simple product structure since they only have to choose the model, color, and equipment package to get the car they want.
